An average movie

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 10 June 2012 03:07

Nowadays, I have Netflix and Popcorn and not only I have since then an endless selection of movies to choose from but, as a result, I have become slightly more picky regarding the movies I watch. Before, I used to watch pretty much anything as long as it was starring one or two actors I was interested in and, as a result, I would sometimes end up watching some really obscure features. This movie was a perfect example and it was indeed was pretty average. Basicallly, it was one of those straight-to-dvd flicks with poor acting, directing and storyline. I was above all rather amazed by Paul Walker who played the lead here. I mean, I have to admit it, the guy had the looks but, man, as a actor, he was rather clueless and this flick was a good example. The fact that the whole thing was ratheer poorly written didn't help. For example, the character portrayed was supposed to be some kind of loser but then, out of the blue, he was riding a bike, a horse, taking down about 20 henchmen with his bare hands and he also became some kind of sharp shooter. However, even though the whole thing was pretty average, it was not one of the worst movies I have seen, and I do think that the story actually had some potential. Still, it is pretty average and not really worth a look.

Bobby Z, a legend??????

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 28 October 2007 11:53

Tim Kearney (Paul Walker) is a loser serving sentences in jail. A DEA agent (Laurence Fishburne) offers him a way out: Tim must impersonate recently deceased drug dealer, Bobby Z (Jason Lewis). In order for this plan to work, Tim has to learn everything about Bobby Z, from his favorite color to his many women. But is the real Bobby Z dead? Is Tim able to pull this off?

From the beginning of the movie, this was a crappy movie. Paul Walker it seems has a gift for playing in such films, despite the fact that he has potential to play roles other than smart-a****.
Jason Lewis has few scenes, and in my opinion, they should have been deleted! His Bobby Z is a legend, but he really looks like an ape-like idiot, and he can't act either.

Badly directed, badly written and badly acted by everyone. Even by Joaquim de Almeida, whom I usually enjoy in any film!

The film does have a lot of action though and has some funny moments.

Not worth spending or wasting my time a second time.
