A good movie

Posted : 10 years ago on 30 April 2014 05:14

A while back, I had the luck that all the Dirty Harry movies were broadcast in one of my Dutch channels as I was really eager to check this franchise starring Good Old Clint Eastwood. To be honest, there was no good reasons why this last installment should have been any good (As a matter of fact, it was the least successful of the five Dirty Harry films at the box-office)ย  but I thought it was actually quite enjoyable. Indeed, it was released almost 20 years after the last installment and you can feel that they were actually pushing it a little as Eastwood was almost 60 years old at the time but it still worked out and I thought the whole thing was definitely entertaining. Above all, I thought it was a decent serial killer plot, nothing really ground-breaking but still quite enjoyable. Of course, Clint Eastwood was still hugely charismatic at the time and he has never been more bad-ass than when he was playing the iconic Harry Callahan, even for a 5th installment. Another pleasure with this flick was to have Liam Neeson in a small part and Jim Carrey in an even smaller character. It is rather funny to think that, 20 years later, Neeson has become somehow an action star but that wasnโ€™t something you could predict after watching this flick. To conclude, even though it is nothing really amazing, I thought it was a decent sequel and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

The 5th In The 'Dirty Harry' Franchise And The Only Satisfactory Sequel The The 1971 Movie 'Dirty Harry'

Inspector 'Dirty' Harry Callahan Returns Once More To Save The Day And Is Played By None Other Than Clint Eastwood Himself! Now, This Film Is Notable For Having Many Big Names Which Werent That Big At That Time! Liam Neeson, Jim Carrey And Patricia Clarkson, Each Of Whom Went On To Even Bigger Fame!

This Film Also Has One Of Those Car Chases! Harry & Al Quan Are Chased Around Town By A Remote-Control Car Frenzy Dude And The Chase Is Almost Similar To The Chase Scene In Bullitt!

Anyways, Sequels Always (Sometimes) Ruin The Status Of The Original Film! True, But Then Again, We Have Sequels Which Strengten The Status Of The Original! This Could Be The Only Sequel That You May Enjoy Thoroughly Because Even Though Liam Neeson Wasnt Giving Any Oscar Worthy Performance, Its Always Fun To Watch Him Perform! And Oh, We Also Have That Beautiful Ms. Clarkson To Accompy Our .44-Magnum Caliber Wielding Hero!

So, In Overall, I Would Give It 7/10 Stars For Neeson's, Clarkson's And Carrey's Performances And The Violent Setting Of This Film!

And Yes, It Also Has Guns 'N Roses In 2 Small Cameos! Just Look For Slash's Iconic Hat....
