Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 5 January 2012 09:26

Recently seen on TV. I couldn't sleep because i was ill so i surfed a litte bit and bingo. Very thrilling. Story fascinated me and took turns. Didn't know anything about this movie but i couldn't stop watching till the end. That says everything. Movie plays in GB and you have people from underworld, secret service, police and gangsters in it.

A very good movie

By now, I have seen most of the movies starring Jason Statham and, even though I have some respect for the guy and even though he is usually pretty badass, to be honest, most of his movies are actually rather boring. The main issue is that he basically always plays the very same character in all his movies which has become rather tedious in my opinion. Anyway, there has been a few exceptions and this movie was definitely one of them. Indeed, before watching the damned thing, I heard many good things about this flick so I was rather anxious to see it. Eventually, I thought it was really neat. First of all, I knew nothing about the story which probably made the whole story even more spellbinding to watch. Basically, it is a rather straightforward heist feature but the fact it was based on a real story probably help it to stay grounded and, in my opinion, it is easily one of the best movies in this genre. I have noticed that some people compare this to Guy Ritchie's movies (‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Snatch’) but I didn't really get this comparison (expect of course for the fact that Jason Statham was involved in all these movies). Anyway, it was definitely a really entertaining movie and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

Excellent Heist Movie

One of the best bank heist movies of all time. Spike Lee's joint, which I've heard it compared to in the past few years, doesn't come near it.

Well told story

Jason Statham shines in this movie about a bank job in England. I've liked how he has become one of the better kick butt action players but in this movie he shows his acting chops as well.

The movie follows a few midlevel criminals as they get a chance for a big score robbing a bank. The problem is that they don't know that they are being used and set up by forces unseen. This ads for some plot twists and turns along the way.

This movie is supposedly based on a true story which made it more amazing to me. Its hard to believe that this could happen in real life. This is a movie well worth a couple hours of your time. I wouldn't bring the family to this one. There is nudity and a few brutal violent scenes. This one is for the adults.
