A good movie

I already saw this movie but since it was a while back and since I had this movie on DVD, I thought I might as well check it out again. From the 2 movies directed by Steven Soderbergh, this first part was the more interesting one since it was, in my opinion, more significant historically speaking. Anyway, I thought that the directing was really neat (it was probably the last time that Soderbergh really impressed me with one of his films) and Benecio del Toro gave a really strong performance. The first time around, the only flaw I could notice was that Che Guevara seemed rather flawless and, as a result, the whole thing did look sometimes like a propaganda movie. But still, I thought at the time that it was really a fascinating story and since I am a sucker for (leftist) political movies, I was quite mesmerized. However, after re-watching the damned thing, I came to the conclusion that, even though you spend more than 2 hours (if you would count both movies, more than 4 hours) with Che Guevara, the guy still remained this mystical figure and I didn't really learn so much about thim after all. Anyway, to conclude, even though it was maybe not a real masterpiece, it was still a really interesting watch and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested by this subject.ย
