A good movie

Since I kept hearing some pretty good things about this flick and since I have a weak spot for Michael Fassbender, I was really eager to check it out. Well, to be honest, in my opinion, it turned out to be a rather basic Western roadtrip. In fact, to make it even more generic, it was dealing with a naive young man guided by a cynical older guy with some nifty survival skills and, to make it more sounding like a weaker version of 'Dead Man', there were even some semi poetic/philisophical dialogues added in the mix. And yet, I still liked the damned thing though. Indeed, this movie looked really neat an convincing and first time director John Maclean managed to create a very nice mood. Furthermore, to be honest, it has been a while since Michael Fassbender has done anything really amazing but, back then, the guy was pretty much on fire and he delivered here another strong performance.ย  Kodi Smit-McPhee shouldn't be forgotten either and, together, even though they both played some stereotypes, they made for a very interesting duo. Anyway, to conclude, even if it didn't blow me away, it was still a pretty good Western and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.ย
