After many viewings of (recent) French films, I'm happy to finally have found one that is worth watching.
Catherine Frot plays Odette Toulemonde. She works as a make-up girl and adores French author Balthazar Balsan, who, one day, shows up on her door step.
The story sounds simple, yet it's not. It's a romantic story, yet it's not.
The movie has its funny (intellectual) moments, which I adored.
I particularly enjoyed Odette's character and persona, she's totally nuts (in a good way, I should add).
It's a surrealistic film about life and happiness.
Definitely a movie I recommend to all.
FYI English subtitles are available on the dvd for those who don't speak French. Accurately translated, I might add. Even for those awkward references mentioned.
Odette Toulemonde Reviews
