An average movie

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 9 June 2017 01:13

To be honest, I never understood the appeal of this franchise and I was really surprised that this 3rd installment was still quite successful at the box-office, especially since it was released 5 long years after its predecessors. In my case, I ended up watching the damned thing because they were offering some free DVDs at my local supermarkt if you bought 2 bottles of mayonnaise of a specific brand. Anyway, pretty much like the previous movies in this franchise, I really didn't care much about the damned thing. Indeed, they brought up basically the same formula without adding interesting at all to the mix. Seriously, the best thing they could come up with was to bring up a Neanderthal look-a-like of Ben Stiller. At least, I have to admit that it wasn't a huge step-back but it was definitely not a step-forward either. The only thing I maybe remotely enjoyed was the cameo by Hugh Jackman which was not bad. The saddest thing about this movie was the probably the fact that it gave us Robin Williams's last (live) performance and this last performance was definitely nothing memorable, especially considering his rather impressive career. To conclude, even though the whole thing was rather harmless, I still think it was a waste of time and I don't think it is worth a look.ย

A simple and better than the 2nd movie, But...

So the final movie in the trilogy. That's what I'm hoping for. Because when the first movie came I thought it was a nice idea and then its sequel was so bad without any further innovative ideas to add up. I was not expecting the third movie, but it made its way and I give it a try only to get disappointed.

Ben Stiller is a fine actor and a great director, this trilogy was just a passing cloud in his career, other I would have blamed him for accepting the offer. As we know its a multi star movie, in that I am very happy to see Robin Williams one final time. What a great actor, lucky we had him in our time. The funny thing is I am confused for Rebel Wilson as Melissa McCarthy, but soon after realised.

The rest of the cast, Wilson, Coogan, Kingsley and other were what to say, their existence were in individual narrow thin lane in a weak story. Badly needed a fresh plot in the well known concept from the last two movies, and it did not give us. Hope the reboot would be very creative in the each three. May be it should set in the Hollywood studios like Marvel, Disney et cetera. Because, as I am a movie fanatic, love to see some of my favourite characters like Gandalf the gray, Joker et cetera, as well as beasts like Godzilla, King Kong et cetera come alive at night. It would be so awesome. Anyway, this movie was just okay for a certain reason. Don't expect high, because it won't serve you.

5/10

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb review

Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 27 March 2015 10:48

I really enjoyed the first two the latter actually being better in my opinion. I have been wanting to see this and just never really had the chance to until. I also had to see this mostly because I miss good ole Robin Williams. So I really loved this one. I find it to be my favorite of the trilogy. It's full of cute, funny, and even emotional moments throughout. I enjoyed seeing all the new exhibits that came to life. All the old ones that showed up were awesome as usual. I just love Dexter seeing as Capuchin are just so adorable. I think they might have done a sequel with the way it ended, but without Robin Williams I doubt they will do it. It just wouldn't be the same without him nor would it make any sense. I loved that they dedicated this to the two greats they lost Robin Williams of course and Mickey Rooney.

Pros:
-Old Characters we enjoy returning
-Awesome new characters
-Funny, emotional, and just altogether great moments
-Neat cameos
-A good finish to a fun trilogy

Cons:
-It felt a bit short
-Leaves room for a sequel I hope doesn't get made

I thought that it was a great finish to the series. This was just a great trilogy for the whole family. I had more fun with each entry I watched. I suggest if you watched and liked the first two you have to see this one as well
