An average movie

Posted : 10 years, 9 months ago on 19 July 2013 06:49

Ever since I watched 'Silver Linings Playbook', I have become a fan of Bradley Cooper so I was really eager to watch something else starring this guy. Even though his choices are sometimes rather dubious, his work is really diverse and he should be praised for that ('Silver Linings Playbook', 'Limitless', 'The A-Team', 'The Hangover', 'Valentine's Day' and this movie as well). Anyway, Cooper was definitely one of the strong aspects in this movie. I also liked the visual style (some scenes looked just downright impressive) even though there was a little bit of CGI overkill which made the whole thing looking fake at some moments. Only recently, I finally saw 'Hellraiser' and you can easily recognize Clive Barker's narrative style which is basically a horror story involving a parallel universe. To be honest, even though the story was intriguing, it never really grabbed me though (I even had my doubts concerning 'Hellraiser' which is supposed to be a major classic). Furthermore, I thought that Vinnie Jones was rather miscast. Indeed, one of his trademarks are his hilarious one-liners so, to give him a speechless character was just a waste and I think another actor would have been more appropriate. Anyway, to conclude, even though it was nothing amazing, it ย was still a decent horror flick and it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

The Midnight Meat Train review

This is absolutely one of the best book-to-movie adaptations of a Clive Barker story (short story) that I have seen. I loved it. As a written story on the page, it is dark and twisted and full of imagery that, sure, doesn't completely translate onto the screen, but it was a really good job, and I have seen this a couple of times so far, recommended it to others (who all enjoyed it), and own it.

Slacker

Ok I was always intrigued by this movie, not because it has a funny name but because it looked cool. It turned out to be one of those movies that just dissapoints you in every way. It was going great and it easily had a 6 rating, then it just alllllll fell apart fast. Just had too much going on in little time. Bradley Cooper who was actual good, but just became terrible during the end. Its like he caught bad acting syndrome. So this movie slacked at the end and just lost so much at the end and failed to impress me

Brilliantly made, amazingly realistic special effects, and you keep on wonder the same thing... Why doesn't the killer ever talk, and when you find out, you'll be so engulfed, you won't be able to take your eyes off the screen!
