"Madison" tells the true story of Jim McCormick and his son Mike McCormick (Jake Lloyd and James Caviezel) on their journey to fame in a hydro plane competition in 1971. The film takes place in a little town called "Madison" hence the name of the film.
I enjoyed the film for what it was, a basic feel good father/son story, quite similar to a lot of other films out there. There was just one thing different about it, it is about a hydro plane competition, and it is a true story.
I won't lie to you, I felt for the characters in the story as if they were actually living the events at that time, and that is good for any movie.
I would have given this film a higher rating than a "7" (even though a 7 isn't too bad) but I lost interest towards the middle/end. It started getting repetitive, and when films get repetitive and I am already skeptical of it, The end result isn't so good.
I will give this film credit for it's great father/son relationship, and their dedication for winning, but this film could have been so much better.
