Leprechaun: Origins review

Posted : 9 years, 9 months ago on 26 August 2014 11:05

I have been wanting to see this for awhile. I only ever liked the first Leprechaun and the rest were mediocre to crap. I always give a new movie a chance especially when it's re-imagined. I mean I love Warwick Davis, but the cheesiness just didn't keep me interested. Anyways I hear that people are somewhat disappointed by this one. I however never listen to others because well I like the ability to speak for myself. The acting is alright. The death scenes were pretty gruesome. This was originally said to be a prequel, but it doesn't seem anything at all like that. It seems like a completely new story. The Leprechaun doesn't speak at all and you can barely see it throughout most of the movie. Whenever I did see it I did think the make up was pretty good, but it was quite different than the campy version of course. I did like the different premise they used in this which was interesting enough. It for the most part felt like just some creature feature about a random Leprechaun. I don't see this spanning out to more films, but it was an okay film. What do you expect from WWE as the producers? It was still better than the Leprechaun sequels though.
