An average movie

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 19 January 2012 04:02

Nowadays, I have Netflix and Popcorn and not only I have since then an endless selection of movies to choose from but, as a result, I have become slightly more picky regarding the movies I watch. Before, I used to watch pretty much anything as long as it was starring one or two actors I was interested in and, as a result, I would sometimes end up watching some really obscure features. This movie was a perfect example. Indeed, I wasn't expecting much from the damned thing but I thought I should give it a try anyway. And, indeed, the whole concept was rather uninteresting and, honestly, not really funny at all. Above all, the whole thing was just badly written as, everytime you would see something interesting and 'touching' concerning the characters, they would immediatly show something really stupid or obnoxious about the same characters. You might really ask yourself if this movie was really a good career choice for Anna Faris who had already played the dumbest chick on earth already some many times for the 'Scary movie' franchise. Still, I think she is actually talented. I mean, the concept was worthless, her character was beyond awful and, still, thanks to her performance, I couldn't help thinking that maybe some of those playmates could be actually nice and friendly which was quite an achievement. Anyway, to conclude, even though the whole thing might have had actually some potential, it was still an average comedy and it is not really worth a look.

Blonde ambition

If you are expecting to see an intelligent movie, you've come to the wrong place on this one. It was so stupid it was funny. This was a female version of The Revenge of the Nerds.

The sorority house was full of misfits that you wouldn't want to be caught dead talking to in public. In comes Anna Farris to the rescue in her skimpy outfits and bubbly personality. The problem is that she isn't the brightest bulb in the box either. Of course you have the evil sorority house trying to run them out of town. The tutoring of Farris leads to scenes that are so silly that they are funny as they try to recruit pledges and save their house.

If you are in the mood for a no brainer funny movie, this one might be the ticket. It won't win a awards, but it will probably give you more than one opportunity to laugh.
