An average movie

Posted : 8 years, 3 months ago on 27 January 2016 12:21

Recently, Matthew McConaughey  made one of the most impressive come-back, resulting in an Academy Award for his performance in ‘Dallas Buyers Club’.  Before this unexpected turning of events, the guy was mostly known for showing up in some rather average romantic-comedies requiring him to remove his shirt as often as possible. This movie was one of those, only his 2nd rom-com following the rather weak ‘The Wedding Planner’ and it is probably the least worst of the whole bunch. To be honest, it has been a while since I saw it and there is a fair chance that it didn’t grow old very well at all but, when I first saw it with my wife, we both thought it was not bad (my wife in fact really loved the damned thing). Basically, it was based on a rather lame concept and, with such a title, you shouldn’t really expect anything really amazing, but , at the end of the day, I thought it was actually fairly entertaining. What really made the whole thing quite enjoyable was eventually the great chemistry between Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson. Eventually, 5 years later, they would try to milk this chemistry again with ‘Fool's Gold’ but the end-result was seriously disappointing. Anyway, to conclude, I thought it was a decent watch and  it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
