Another rubbish sequel

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 6 January 2014 12:59

'Grease' was good but it wasn't that great and I wasn't a huge fan of it, however 'Grease 2' is just another rubbish sequel and a lot worse

The music is nice but the acting, plot and songs completely suck, if you thought 'Grease' was brilliant, you may enjoy this flick but otherwise no

A very bad movie

Obviously, I wasn’t expecting much but since I always had a weak spot for Michelle Pfeiffer , I thought I might as well check it out anyway. To be honest, even though my wife always loved this movie, I wasn't really a huge fan of ‘Grease’ to start with but this sequel was just completely useless. Basically, it is one of those sequels which doesn’t bring any of the characters back and you wonder then what’s in fact the point of the whole thing. Anyway , it was seriously boring and just plain bad. You seriously wonder how Michelle Pfeiffer did manage to recover from this mess and still have one very satisfying career afterwards (the fact that she showed up a year later in ‘Scarface’, one of the most acclaimed movies of the 80’s, might have helped a bit though). At least, Michelle Pfeiffer did try very hard and she was definitely the only redeeming feature in this movie. In fact, I have to admit it, she even had one song which was actually pretty nice. But that's it! Eventually, this was maybe not one of the worst movies I have ever seen but it wasn’t far from it and it is definitely not worth a look, only maybe if you want to check how bad it actually is.

Grease 2 review

Posted : 16 years, 1 month ago on 13 April 2008 08:44

To be honest, I’m really not a fan of Grease, and was forced to watch this against my will by my female housemates.
20 mins in to Grease 2 and I was swooning over Michael Carrington (Maxwell Caulfield) Sandy’s English cousin, come to study at Rydell High.
The totally predictable and opposite storyline from Grease is played out amidst some rather raunchy sung innuendos in catchy sing along tunes. Bad girl Stephanie Zinone (Michelle Pfeiffer) soon catches the eye of poor puppy eyes Micheal and he sets about to become cool enough to be accepted by the T-birds and win Stephanie’s heart.

Cheese oozes from every scene, but the cast know that and that’s its charm.
I warmed to all of the characters massively more so than the first film with their cheeky fun loving gum chewing charm and tapped my feet smiling throughout.

It’s always going to be a marmite of a film. But if you’re looking for a girly bit of fun, this could be your perfect answer to a great karaoke night in.
