“To be honest, I didnât have some really high expectations before watching this flick. In fact, I was even warned by a fellow listal member that it was a really unnecessary sequel (on the other hand, isnât it the case with most sequels?!) but, since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out anyway. Well, I still think that a couple of ideas were pretty neat. Indeed, Anders Cain was a badass character, Wyatt Russel was really charismatic and I also enjoyed the dynamic in Doug Glattâs team. Unfortunately, well, pretty much nothing else really worked. Indeed, while its predecessor might have been too generic and predictable, at least, it was rather well written and it had a solid narrative structure. "16.7.
"First viewing - Jan. 5th I really enjoyed Goon, so I was curious about its sequel. I've seen a fair number of reviews claiming it was better than feared and thus worthwhile, but I was still skeptical that a sequel would be justified. Now that I've seen it, I didn't think it was. The story is fairly thin and thus predictable. Glatt gets injured in a fight with another player, has to quit hockey for about 5 minutes, then figures out a way to get back in so he can fight the guy who took him out. "
