Yabba Dabba Doo me a favour and avoid

Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 5 November 2013 07:20

'The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas' is a prequel (not a sequel) to 'The Flintstones' which I really enjoyed, due to that, I thought I'd enjoy this one as well

Yabba Dabba Doo me a favor and don't watch 'The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas', it's very miscast (except Jane Krakowski who is an arguably better Betty than Rosie O'Donnell) and the story is pretty boring

It explains how Fred and Barney got their jobs and how they met the Gazoo but they say only Fred and Barney can see him and then at Fred and Wilma's wedding at the end, Dino licks the Gazoo - in the cartoon, Dino can see Gazoo too but thinking about it makes me dizzy

But why throw in some mature content? There's not as much mature content as in 'The Cat In The Hat' and PG is a suitable rating but when Chip's girlfriend Roxie takes Barney to an All-You-Can Eat buffet to seduce him, a cream pie goes in her face and Barney wipes it off her chest making Betty think he is touching her breasts? Who thought that would be suitable for young kids? (the cartoon is for kids too you know)

Although the cast is miscast, the actors put effort into their performances and should not be blamed for the disaster (with the exception of Stephen Baldwin who is really terrible in it)

To conclude, 'The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas' is a bad prequel to a masterpiece predecessor and a complete waste of time, money and talent (it cost a lot of money and was a huge flop at the box office)

A very bad movie

Oh, man, that was bad! I mean, I thought the first installment was terrible but this was even worse... Since this movie had such at terribly reputation, I did have some low expectations but it was even worse than I thought it would be. On the other hand, since the first movie was really bad, you could only assume that the sequel would be awfull. First of all, none of the original cast returned which was not a good omen and it was in fact the reason they chose to make a prequel. Where should I start? The story was completely boring, the jokes were pathetic, the whole thing looked awful (I'm sure they spent a lot of money but it didn't help, I'm afraid...). The actors did what they could and I'm not sure they should be blamed, except for Stephen Baldwin who delivered one of the worst and most annoying performances I have ever seen. I remember feeling embarrassed for Elizabeth Taylor who gave her final performance in the previous installment. Now, this time around, it was Joan Collinsโ€™s turn to embarrass herself... To conclude, this flick is really really bad, it was a real torture to watch the whole thing and, obviously, it is not worth a look whatsoever.
