I already saw this movie but since it was a while back, I thought I might as well check it out again. To be honest, I always had some mixed feelings about the damned thing. First of all, on one hand, it was actually a really preposterous concept. I mean, after Nelson almost didn't come back from the dead, was it realistic that they would keep on trying again and again with each time the same outcome? And yet, on the other hand, I can't deny that there was still something quite fascinating about this movie and I think it was mostly thanks to some solid directing from Joel Schumacher Furthermore, it was still fairly entertaining with a really neat cast (Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt, Hope Davis) and some fancy visuals, but, unfortunately,  the whole thing was still rather shallow and borderline silly. Basically, it was a standard US thriller with a decent concept but there was absolutely no ambition to give the viewers something smart which was rather disappointing. Apparently, they are working on a remake for this movie but, eventually, it is pretty obvious that it would turn out to be a flop at the box-office because, let’s face it, nobody cares about such movies nowadays. Anyway, coming back to our main feature, to conclude, in spite of its flaws, I think it was still a decent thriller and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
