No Intelligence Indeed

Posted : 15 years, 3 months ago on 19 February 2009 09:51

In this "documentary", evolution is critisised and "Intelligent Design" (ID) is prized (though an explanation of why ID is a science is lacking). I've never seen such a mess of misinterpretation, bold lies and bad arguments. Midway, the film changes from saying ID is science and not related to religion, to implying that evolutionists are part of a big conspiracy to make the world atheist and to remove Americas Freedom. Apparently, atheism and evolutionism will inevitably lead to communism and/or nazism. Aside from a very tasteless scene in a concentration camp, there are some laughs to be had.

This film is best seen with friends and alcohol. Suggested drinking game: drink

-every time Hitler/nazism/fascism/communism is mentioned in the same sentence as Darwin
-every time a segment is followed by a cut to a totally irrelevant and clip.
-every time somebody obviously lies or misinforms.
-every time the editing makes the evolutionary biologists look like self-obsessed fools and the interviewer as a really nice guy.
-every time the argumentation consists of a logical fallacy.
-every time the film's hero is dishonest.

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed review

Posted : 15 years, 4 months ago on 30 January 2009 02:40

Expelled was very thought provoking. I came into the movie thinking it was probably going to be a comedy making fun of the darwinist and creationist stances, but instead it questioned why the creationist stance is being blown off as if their is nothing to it scientifically and is just a "religious" explanation. He also looks into the effect the darwinist stance has on a person's outlook of humanity. As I said, it was very thought provoking and showed me a view of darwinism I had not seen before.
