A bad movie

Posted : 10 years, 11 months ago on 28 May 2013 02:17

I wasn’t expecting much from this flick but one of my colleagues at the time recommended it and said it was really hilarious so I thought I should give it a try. It turned out to be a huge mistake and I would be really careful in the future when this guy would recommend a movie to me… Indeed, I thought it was such a lame and stupid comedy. I know, it is supposed to be that way but it is also supposed to be funny which was not the case at all and personally, I was really bored to death during the whole thing. The main issue compared to a similar movie like ‘Road Trip’ (which I didn’t really like either but at least it was not as bad as this piece of turd) is that it is a flick made by Americans for the American audience about some terrible clichés about Europeans. Eventually, it might be funny if you are American (and pretty much ignorant…) but I don’t see the appeal if you are European (on the other hand, the guy would recommend it to me was Dutch so go figure…). The only positive thing is that even though Michelle Trachtenberg is far from being a great actress, she was quite charming and Matt Damon had some fun with his cameo but that’s the only positive things I can think of. To conclude, I really really didn’t like this flick, it is just a lame comedy and I don’t think it is worth a look whatsoever.

EuroTrip review

EuroTrip is one of the few comedies I have enjoyed that is definitely slapstick in nature and a bit over the top among the main stream, but with Scott Mechlowicz, Jacob Pitts, Travis Wester, and a little cameo by Matt Damon who could ask for more?

Fun film

Oh my God! I love this film! It just makes me laugh so much! When I saw this film on DVD, I was obsessed with it. Before I really got into films like watching classics, this was one of my favourite films but now it is more of a guilty pleasure because I've watched it so many times and have seen how silly it is. I really appreciate it as a piece of entertainment but there were some things about this film that were absolutely pathetic! It is still a really fun film to watch. EuroTrip is a good adventure that is a trip of a lifetime that I think everybody would love to do. This was probably an memorable adventure for the filmmakers and actors within this film to be part of an adventure even though it's a film.

God! The acting from almost every actor apart from Jacob Pitts and Travis Wester was absolutely awful! EuroTrip is a guilty pleasure of mine so to be fair, I don't really care. Scott Mechlowicz looks like a twin or a clone to Hayden Christensen even voice. His portrayal of Scott was absolutely crap! He is worst than Hayden! Jacob Pitts made me laugh as Cooper Harris. I thought he was absolutely brilliant!! He reminds me a lot of Steve Stifler in American Pie trilogy who thinks about nothing but sex. Cooper just wants to go across Europe to have wild sex. Michelle Trachtenberg is so hot but her acting talent is absolute garbage! She was better than Scott in this film. Travis Wester was average as Jamie. Jamie is a bit of a geek because he is obsessed with history especially churches, castles and palaces all around the world. Vinnie Jones and Matt Damon made small appearances in this film. Vinnie Jones is the leader of a gang of Manchester United hooligans which it typical Vinnie Jones and Matt Damon is the leader of a rock band who was having an affair with Scott's girlfriend.

The directing in this film is good only for fun and that is it. It is directed to provide pure comedy with sexual humour and very foul language. It is a rather extraordinary adventure that the four young people go through because whereever they go, they end up going through a series of awkward, unfortunate yet hilarious situations. The script was pretty lame and the story was in general but the thing I love the most in this film is the "Scotty Doesn't Know" song that I couldn't stop singing when I was almost in love with this film when I was 13 when it came out. I think it is probably one of my all-time favourite songs.

EuroTrip is a stupid yet absolutely hilarious guilty pleasure that I could watch over and over again. I feel guilty doing this but we all love our guilty pleasures. EuroTrip is one of the funniest films of 2004 and I think after American Pie 1+2, Juno and Knocked Up, EuroTrip is one of the best teen films ever! It is one of my top guilty pleasures alongside Johnny English, Looney Tunes: Back In Action, American Pie, Home Alone, George Of The Jungle, Shoot 'Em Up and Mr. Bean's Holiday.
