Description:
Ferenc, returning home after the WWI, is faced with the prospect of having to start a new life as a widower. His compatriot and POW mates, Rókus died. Ferenc has a horrific secret and a bad conscience: he is responsible for the death of Rókus, who died of hunger because Ferenc did not share his last piece of bread with him. Hi is encouraged by Szüle to marry Rókus's widow, Etel in his child's interst and for the land. The woman is attracted to him, they get married, they both are happy. A baby is born.
