An average movie

I had some really mixed feelings about this flick. I think it is a rather interesting watch in the sense that Julia Roberts was just 24 years old and just starred a year before in her breakthrough performance in 'Pretty woman'. Back then, she was becoming basically the biggest female movie star and nobody has been able to take her spot since then. Anyway, my wife really loved this flick but I'm not so sure about it. I mean, the plot is just a typical sentimental and cheesy story about terminal illness. You either love those (like my wife) or you don't (like me). Still, there are many good things about it. First of all, Roberts gave a decent performance and Campbell Scott was even better. Indeed, he gave here a really impressive and emotional performance and it is thanks to him that I would eventually recommand this. Too bad he never really managed to breakthrough as he is definitely an underrated actor. To conclude, it is a sentimental drama but it is still worth a look, especially if you are interested to see Julia Roberts before she reached complete stardom.
