"This comedy based on a stage play is a so and so farce about a trio of dodgy bookmakers stealing a horse from a field in order to use the animal in a race and a betting scam. I was expecting this to be a very funny movie but proper laughs are few and far between. Whilst the comedy is fun to start with, it actually becomes tiring before the movie is even close to finishing. There's a great cast here which includes the always reliable Sid James, Ronald Shiner, Brian Rix and a very young Joan Sims."
