An average movie

Posted : 13 years, 2 months ago on 14 March 2011 05:46

To be honest, since it was a rather obscure feature, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a really nice cast, I was quite eager to check it out. Unfortunately, I was amazed about how disappopining the whole thing was. I mean, on the dvd box, you can see such names like Gary Oldman or Robert Carlyle and you would think the whole thing should be awesome but no way... In fact, the lead character was played by someone else called Andrew-Lee Potts and the guy was just painful to watch but he wasn’t in fact the main issue. Indeed, the main problem was that the story was just so underwhelming. Indeed, even though it tries to copy the kynetic style of some other British classics like ‘Snatch’ or ‘Trainspotting’, it fails just miserably and the end-result was just some over-the-top random mess. Concerning Gary Oldman, I have some respect for the guy, he is a terrific actor but, to be honest, I think that he has spent maybe a third of his whole career making such stinkers. To conclude, don't be fooled like me, the whole thing was pretty lame, I think my rating is actually quite generous and you should probably avoid it.

Worth a try

Another average film that was only just worth watching. I was expecting it to be a lot better, but I just never really got into the story..

Yeah, yeah, Gary Oldman was pretty good. I guess. Nothing more really, no amazing acting in this, no amazing storyline, oh and only a few funny lines.
I should just point out that I got a few laughs from Robert Carlyle, but apart from that nothing.
