Even though I didn't expect much from this flick, since I have a weak spot for Ray Liotta, I thought I should give it a try. At least, on the positive side, I must say it was pretty nice to see him doing something else than his usual psychos but, a part from that, I can't say I really enjoyed this movie though. Indeed, above all, the whole thing was just way too sentimental and predictable for me. I mean, they did try to develop an interracial love relationship and that's a noble cause but there was absolutely no depth concerning the characters and it made the whole thing rather tedious to watch. It’s too bad because the material was interesting but the serious lack of passion between these characters who were supposedly in love terribly hurt this picture. Concerning Whoopy Goldberg, it seems that she used to only show up in either some obnoxious comedies or some over-sentimental dramas like this one but, unsurprisingly, we don’t hear much from her anymore. Anyway, to conclude, I was kind of bored during the whole thing and I don’t think it is  really worth a look, except maybe if you want to see Ray Liotta doing something completely different than his usual stuff.
