Closet Land Reviews

"Closet Land" is such an excellent movie. I saw it years ago on VHS, more than once, because I just loved it. It's so well written, perfectly cast, and excellently acted. I love the pairing of Alan Rickman and Madeleine Stowe, the only two acting in this film where she has been kidnapped from her home in the night, and he is interrogating her about the possible hidden political messages in her book, written for children.

Most of the interrogation tactics are not shown, just talked about, and you see the lead-up to the act, just not the act itself, but that doesn't make the film any less powerful. My only disappointment in this movie is that it is still not available in North America on DVD, and that more people cannot discover this movie, as it is very deserving of being watched, and owned, and watched again :).
