An average movie

I wasn’t expecting much from this movie but since I was in mood in watching a rather dumb action flick, I thought I might as well check this one out. To be honest, I believe that the concept had actually some potential and, at least, it was more spectacular than the really lame ‘Force of Nature’ which was also dealing with some heist in Puerto Rico during a hurricane. Still, there is no doubt that the damned thing was pretty weak though and I guess I shouldn’t have expected more from Rob Cohen who might not be the worst but has certainly become one of the least inspired directors at work nowadays. Anyway, what bothered me the most with this flick was how lame all the characters were. Seriously, none of them was interesting or charismatic enough, neither the good guys or the bad guys. On top of that, they were not helped by the really pathetic dialogues they had been provided. Concerning the cast, Maggie Grace still looks really lovely but she is still a rather weak actress and she was never convincing playing some supposedly seasoned Federal Reserve Treasury agent. Concerning Toby Kebbell, I will admit that he does have slightly more skills than Grace but the guys keeps showing up in such half-baked action flicks and the British actor clearly struggled with the Southern accent so you might wonder if he was really the right choice to play this character. Coming back to the whole concept, was it really such a good idea to plan a heist during a massive hurricane since it can be so dangerous but above all completely unpredictable? Anyway, I guess there are worse action flicks out there, it is probably not even the worst movie delivered by Rob Cohen so far, but there are certainly some better movies so you should probably avoid this one.
