Carry on Cowboy review

Posted : 11 years, 4 months ago on 30 December 2012 01:09

I have always loved the Carry On films since first seeing them and I count Carry On Cowboy as one of my all time favorites.
Set in a town run by outlaws, the local Sherriff is shot and they send in Marshall P. Knutt - a Plumber from England, mistaking him for a real Marshall, to sort out the town. The fun then really starts.
Add in the usual mix of odd characters, the local Mayor, the local Indian tribe whose leader and chief doesn''t like fighting, but only drinking firewater, and you have the mixture for a truly good comedy, and this film certainly delivers.
I believe Sid James said this was one of his favorite movies to make in the Carry On series of films and when you watch him playng the Rumpole Kid you can see why.
A lovely little Carry On Classic from the 1960's.
