I wasn’t sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a really cool cast, I really wanted to check it out. First of all, nowadays, Jennifer Lopez has a rather bad reputation as an actress since she only stars in very average flicks but at the start of her acting career, she made some rather interesting movies and this is definitely one of them. To be honest, it is actually not really thanks to her but above all thanks to Jack Nicholson and Michael Caine that I really enjoyed this flick. I mean, I thought they were both, as usual, really awesome and it was just a real treat to see them together on the screen. Furthermore, the story was maybe not really original but it was well written and entertaining enough and it is also interesting to note that this movie was directed by Bob Rafelson, the same guy who gave Jack Nicholson his breakthrough with ‘Five Easy Pieces’ almost 30 years before. On the downside, as usual, I didn’t care much more for Stephen Dorff who might not be one of the worst actors I have ever seen but certainly one of the most uninspiring. To conclude, in spite of its flaws, in spite of the fact that it is nothing really mind-blowing, I actually liked the damned thing and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
