Black Widow review

Posted : 2 years, 9 months ago on 7 August 2021 03:30

It has a good plot and that saves the movie...but dudes...I hate Rachel Weisz since "Stealing Beauty" and now I have to live through with a short and stacky new Black Widow. To be honest...Florence Pugh's face is enchanting...but when you're 5'3" you really want to play a sexy Red Sparrow ? In comics Yelena Belova is a blue-eyed blonde sex-tiger...taller than Natasha and more sexually active, did you really ask to a sexual meeting with Florence Pugh or you'd buy her a candy bar and a Whopper ? Scarlett was not a volley player for sure...but she had a large bosom and nice legs...and she IS sexy. I really like Pugh's fighting scene and acting...but do you see Florence in a black sheath and 11' heel ? She has wide hips, short legs and small breast...if Marvel wants to kill all sexy fictional character like it did with Sue Storm, Carol Danvers, and now Yelena Belova or paint in black like Neena Thurman and Mary Jane Watson go ahead...no bottom at Disney's worst.

Honorable mention for David Harbour, I liked him in Stranger Things and Hellboy here confirm himself as a very good actor...
And now I'm going to dress in mourning for Natasha's final disappearance.
Ad majora Scarlett !!

Black Widow review

This was a great movie, although the plot could be better. Action scenes, character interactions and the character evolutions and personalities are also very good. Except Natasha, they did flesh her out but revealing a boring iteration of her, especially compared to the comics. Maybe because the new Black Widow will be Yelena Belova and they did manage to make her interesting and likeable to me.

A good movie

I already saw this movie but since it bought a brand new awesome TV, I thought I might as well check it out again on Disney+. I remember the first I saw it though. Indeed, back then , after waiting for maybe 18 long months, we were finally able to watch a new MCU film. At least, in the meantime, we could watch the new series on Disney+ but it was not the same though. In fact, I have to admit that I expected the damned thing to be some origin story about Black Widow (which it still was, somehow) but it actually turned out to be some kind of side mission the character handled around the time of ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Well, to be honest, this mission was not really fascinating and, eventually, the whole thing felt like some box they checked so they could argue that this most beloved character did have a solo feature. Eventually, it’s probably the least impactful movie in the grand scheme always involved in the seriously intricate MCU and this great character probably did deserve better. Still, once again, Scarlett Johansson was pretty awesome, she did kick some serious ass and it’s a pity we probably won’t see her again playing this character. However, I shouldn’t forget to mention that Florence Pugh who also nailed another pitch-perfect performance here. Seriously, this girl showed up around 5 years ago and she is already one of the most interesting actresses at work nowadays. Eventually, all the scenes involving the two lethal assassins were just seriously entertaining. The scenes involving the reunion of Black Widow with her ‘fake’ family were also pretty neat but it’s a pity that pretty much everything else was so generic though. Eventually, I still think that the whole side-mission thing was a poor choice and, eventually, it was pretty obvious that they followed this path just to make sure that, even if we might have lost the original Black Widow, well, now we can move on with her badass little sister as a possible replacement. The problem with this approach was that basically nothing else really mattered. Anyway, to conclude, even though it might be one of the most forgettable MCU installments, I have to admit that it was still really entertaining (even more the 2nd time around) and it was pretty neat to see one of the best Avengers shining one last time.
