Between Two Ferns: The Movie Reviews

I wasn't sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a whole bunch of cool actors involved, I thought I might as well check it out. I have to admit that I actually never saw the actual talk show hosted by Zach Galifianakis and, to be honest, it seemed to be a rather misguided idea to turn this idea into a full length feature. Of course, they had to expand the whole thing beyond the cringe-inducing interviews with some celebrities and they decided to go for the road trip genre which was pretty much the most generic and underwhelming option they could choose. For some reason, on top of that, they also added a mockumentary angle which was barely developed and rather useless as well. Concerning the interviews themselves, Galifianakis was quite funny, that's for sure, but the interviewed celebrities were actually often rather disappointing. I mean, most of them would just sit there, without saying nothing or even reacting at all to the weird questions they were asked. Eventually, I wonder if their limp behaviour was actually scripted (which would be a rather odd decision) but, if it wasn't the case, it would show that most actors actually can't improvise at all. Anyway, I guess it is after all a matter of taste and I do have to admit that some bits were actually quite hilarious but, eventually, the humor was just too random for me. Anyway, to conclude, even if I didn't really work, it was still a decent watch though and I think it is actually worth a look, especially if you like Zach Galifianakis.
