Description:
Ala Verde Ala Pobre is the story of Manuel and Jessica, a young couple surviving against the odds in the Riles, a hustling community that grows along the railroad tracks leading to and from the inner core of Manila. Manuel, a former communist rebel now works as janitor for a recruitment agency GLOW that trains and deploys OFWs, more specifically to Japan to work as entertainers or Japayukis. His wife was a Japayuki but now finds better financial opportunity dealing in drugs for an unseen drug source she calls Kirat.
