I'm a huge fan of Robert De Niro and I would watch anything starring this guy. However, for the last 10 or even 20 years, he hasn't done anything great whatsoever and, as a matter of fact, showed up in a lot of garbage. This flick must be the worst he has made so far. I haven't seen the original cartoon and, honestly, I couldn't care less... The animation was ugly, the characters were tedious and the story was just boring to death. I don't blame De Niro for showing up in a familly feature, why not? But I do blame him for chosing such a terrible flick... Some years ago, Robert Zemeckis demonstrated with 'Roger Rabbit' that it was possible to make a familly feature combining animation and live action in a lovely way with a storyline which was compelling for the kids but also for the grown-ups. This flick is just the opposite... Like I said before, it is just ugly and completely boring. It is possible that young children would enjoy this but why shouldn't you show them something really awesome instead of this piece of turd?!? To conclude, it is a waste of time, it is not worth a look whatsoever, even if you are a die-hard fan of Robert De Niro like me.
