I was born and raised in Henderson, KY, a County of about 23k people. Teeny tiny compared to the large Los Angles area I find myself now. Let me explain how I ended up here… *fade to back story*
I grew up with divorced parents and had to split time between Henderson and the neighboring town Owensboro (which is where Johnny Deep is from actually) My mother had various jobs until my grand father bought her a small local video store when I was about 8 and my father was a master plumber. My moms parents lived next door. This is where my favorite person in the world, my Mema lived. I always have had my grandmother around and I h

I always have had my grandmother around and I have many fond memories of biscuits and gravy in the morning before school and yard sales on cold Saturday mornings with her. My grandmother is with out a doubt the most respectable person i have ever met. My fathers parents were divorce and my Grandfather remarried and had a large sheep farm while my grandmother remarried… a couple times and owned a bar with her husband, worked in a bank, and handle insurance accounts i believe. I was really young when she retired so I dont recall what she did and when, but i’ll never forget how great I thought i was at checkers when i played with people at her bar. Now i realize that they were probably drunk and I was 8 so they let me win. Long story short, once i realized my checker crown was in jeopardy, I taught myself to be the true master of checkers.
One of the most important things my mother did for me with out knowing at the time is having that video store. It totally shaped my awareness in film. Not always the best film but I grew my love for horror movies here, yes they awful B ones like “They Live” and “Subspecies” and my love of video games because this was still the day of renting consoles. I also was an only child, an important fact, until I was 21. I balanced my youth between a sheep farm and super mario.
I was raised Mormon on my mothers side and southern baptist on my fathers side, although i never really felt any connection to religion. I also had a brief stint in Catholic school, that whole theory of “better education” but it was more a fast education on how kids can be really mean. My school years were rough though. I only spent 2 years in private school before we ran out of money any way so it was back to public school for middle and high school. Thanks Blockbuster for moving in to town and putting out all the ma & pa places. I really did enjoy school. I did pretty well. Was involved with various clubs and such. I also took gymnastics growing up, thanks Lara Croft and Tomb Raider. Nothing too riveting to write home about until high school.
High school is supposed to be important because it shapes our adult hood right? Or it just seems easiest to remember on while you were semi an adult. I went to a lot of shows. I worked in the mall. I made friends with my best friend Kristina Bowersmith in Louisville off the internet. Oh yes, the internet. My mother got a personal compute for the house with dial up when I was 10. Its just an integral part of my life that sometimes I forget not everyone has had the same experience. Yes, high school. Kristina. bff. I graduated in 2004, and took a year off before going to University of Southern indiana. (I also began my dappinling in to modeling here, I shot for suicide girls when i was 18. Kristina took the photos and my first set was up before i had graduated high school)
That first year out of high school was rough. My mom remarried to well…. not the most desirable person and I was no longer welcome. You can understand my confusion when a A/B student, graduated with honors, working, about to attend college, never been in trouble with anything 18 year old daughter is not welcomed. Well thats another story. The man has some serious issues. So i ventured out on my own and moved in with my friend Jess for a while and started waiting tables. Was fun for a bit, but it quickly lost any excitement. After about a year of waiting tables, I began attending university. Let me tell you, living on your own, working a full time and a part time job while trying to balance school. Not so easy. I eventually dropped out after a year and some good old college debt. I began working the dreaded office job *ohhh scary* Yes. The office job. It wasnt terrible but man was it mind numbing. Thanks to the economy though this job only lasted about a year and i was fresh out of work with a bit on unemployment to my name. After months of looking for a job and no luck, i decided to try out being a “stripper” we can say exotic dancer or whatever you’d like. same thing to me. My new found profession proved to be very very lucrative and i decided to return to college now that i could make a large amount of money in a short time with a flexible schedule. It was like an internet ad come true. I returned to college in full force and even became an officer in student government on my campus. I started an animal rights club, won two awards. Honer roll. fun things I was very proud of. With in this time as well, I began shooting porn. I had applied to some companies online and got flown out to Los angeles to try it out.
Now I didnt hide what i did from the start, and I still dont see the need to. I got into porn for one reason, I am from a small area and wanted to explore my sexuality but if i were to try it at home 1. everyone would know 2. not much selection 3. it doest take much to be considered a hussy in the south. So porn, i tried it out. It ended up going very well for me. My adviser in school even had me speak to some of the human sexuality classes. This was a great point in my life so far. I was stable in the bank and saving and on my way to having a great education, but like every 20 something year old person, I had that one thing that happens and changes everything.
The money from dancing started to go down as the economy caught up to all industries, porn was becoming more regular work for me and I bagan dating a guy who lived 800 miles away. Long story short. He moved. Relationship changed my views on everything to see someone else act in ways i never expected. Relationship ended. He left. Why sign a new lease? I love my friends Amber and Makenzie. If it weren’t for them i dont know where i’d be, but they understood I needed to leave. In this time also, I had began traveling much more around the country. I really wanted to see the world, find my self, etc.. What better place than one that i knew i had work and opptunites I would have no where else. California.
So i hit the organ trail with one months notice, sold everything that didnt fit in my car, loaded up my kittys and away i drove to the west. I moved in with my long standing internet friend Justin who actually was from Indiana and now designed video games. He had a similar story on why he moved and how. Sometime you just have to try something new. I really felt like my life could be anything here. I could do anything here. I wasnt sure what that was but if it was going to happen, its here.
I got an agent, made porn, yada yada. After actually living here and around porn, not just traveling back and forth anymore, I really saw a side that i didnt agree with. Well leave it at that. Its not that I hate porn, its worse, its disappointing. We all know having someone be disappointed with us is worse than hating us. That is what happened with it. Its like something that has such potential but you cant make it use it. Weve all had that relationship with someone im sure. Luckily, being in califnora i wasnt limited to just that. I can try everything here, while using the brand i became in porn to leverage in to other opportunities.
I have always been in to social media. Not as a profession but by proxy. I had ICQ, i was an avid yahoo chat (oh yes webcams!) user, I just generally always had a presence on the internet because thats who i am. the porn thing also made people interested in what i was doing as well, since it is a scandal right? I used my real name in porn and never really made a persona. I think because i never thought it would be my career and i wasnt trying to be someone else. I was doing this for me. I began to see a large following from the gaming/comic crowd. Maybe because thats what i talked about the most. No one really needs to hear what happens on a porn set. I mean… its obvious. But playing Oblivion for 18 hours straight and waiting for months for Skyrim, thats important stuff right there.
I launched my solo site early 2011 and began making porn i actually enjoy making. yes, gaming/nerd undertones. Doing so started to get me attention in the gaming feild. This could have been a double edge sword. I really wanted an office job in gaming. Seriously. Laugh, but anything in gaming i wanted to do, but wasnt sure how to get in. Once people started following me, they were amazed I was really in to gaming. Funny to me, because i remember being made fun of often for this oh so loved hobby of mine, even by guys back home. yes not all men play games, and southern ones tend to think its a waste of time and money. Oh good old boys. Any who. Yeap. After some people questioning my gaming interests which i took notice in for about 3 minutes. I always felt like this… If i like ice cream, do i have to prove that as well?
I was on G4, did some conventions, etc. and now i’m here. I just signed a contract with Machinima. I run 4 sites. and looks like things are going to get interesting from here on… ... (more) (less)
