Description: Miguel Veloso, born May 11, 1986 in Coimbra, is a Portuguese football player, currently with Sporting Clube de Portugal (as of 2008). He plays mainly as a central midfielder, but can also operate as central defender. Veloso started his career at Sport Lisboa e Benfica, where his father became famous but, at the age of 14 switched to rivals Sporting Clube de Portugal where he played for 5 straight years, eventually training with the first team during the 2004-05 season. His first playing position was central defender. In order to give him game time, Sporting loaned Veloso to Clube Desportivo Olivais e Moscavide for 2005-06. ... (more)
