Description: Maya Plisetskaya was born on November 20, 1925 in Moscow, RSFSR, USSR as Maya Mikhaylovna Plisetskaya. She is known for her work on Anna Karenina (1975), Swan Lake (1957) and Anna Karenina (1967). She was married to Rodion Shchedrin. She died on May 2, 2015 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. World famous Soviet ballerina. After retiring from dancing, she became a choreographer and gave master classes around the world. She joined the Bolshoi in 1943, and became prima ballerina in 1960.
