Maxwell Anderson was an American playwright, author, poet, journalist and lyricist, known for his screenplay for "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1930) and his successful Broadway stage play "The Bad Seed" (1954), which became the basis for the classic 1956 horror film of the same name.
