Marynell is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law. Marynell was recognized in Texas Monthly in 2008 - 2011 and 2015 as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Super Lawyers (a Thomson Reuters service). She carries an AV-rating with a 5.0 numerical score, the highest attainable rating awarded for legal competence and ethical conduct by Martindale-Hubbell. Raised in Costa Rica, Marynell is bilingual. She received her undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and her Master's Degree in Psychology from Trinity University. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Law in 1980 and has practiced law in the San Antonio area for over thirty years. In her journey through the practice of high stakes litigation, she has also served in various other capacities including as President of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, Director Emeritus of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Vice President of the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas, and mother of three children. In these many roles and over many years, one belief has remained constant: a lawyer must be, first and foremost, her client's passionate representative and advocate. In addition to her role as advocate, Marynell serves as advisor and evaluator, presenting practical, efficient solutions and proactive ideas. Her goal is to achieve the best outcome for her clients, every time.
