As a film-maker with a vision, MaryLee takes a daring approach to create strong stories with characters that are emotionally complex, at times contradictory, and certainly not one-dimensional.
After graduating from the University of Dayton, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, MaryLee began pursuing opportunities to work in films and commercials, eventually finding her niche as a director and producer.
M.L. Herrmann Productions, LLC., was started in 2010 from a desire to create entertaining, enlightening character-driven stories.
In 2011 MaryLee premiered her debut film 'The Necklace', an award-winning short she produced and directed. An empowering conversation between two sisters, the film stars Kimberlin Brown ('The Young and The Restless') and Traci Dinwiddie ('Supernatural'), and it features music by Dido. 'The Necklace' has screened at film festivals throughout the U.S. and in Canada.
MaryLee was then hired by the U.S. Air National Guard's Wingman Project, a suicide prevention program, to create her second film 'Ashley Waits'. A compelling drama, this has also received awards and is currently screening at film festivals across the country.
She recently produced and directed a PSA for It Stops With Me, a campaign to end domestic violence, featuring players with the Denver Roller Dolls.
Currently in post-production on a new short film ,MaryLee is also developing one other short and a feature film.
MaryLee is honored to be a member of Women in Film, Los Angeles and the Colorado Film Video Association.
