Biography

He began his career in 1983 , participating as a valley to the television program of Raiuno " Test - Game to know each other ", conducted by Emilio Fede .

In 1990 he began to conduct a column on motoring on Telemontecarlo (the first female journalist in Italy to be the conductor of programs on Formula One ), where he deals with the direct from the pits. He then commented for MTV on the direct reports of the German Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft together with the pilot Emanuele Pirro .

Later, in 1997 , he moved to state television, first to Rai Sport and subsequently to Tg2 where he became the presenter from the weekly column of the Rai 2 news program TG2 Motori .

In July 2011 Leitner was a New York correspondent for Tg2, replacing Gerardo Greco , also dealing with politics and economics. From 2012 he also leads the edition of the night of Tg2 , alternating with other colleagues.

He also participated in four editions of the Mille Miglia . He participated and won the Monza rally alongside Marco Brand on Lancia 037. He collaborated as a columnist with several newspapers, the Republic , the Independent , the Christian Family , Gente Motori and TuttoTrasporti . Among the publications, there is the book The art of driving written with colleague Roberto Gurian and the two-time world champion rally Miki Biasion published by Sperling & Kupfer .
