Description: She is in Galatina, she is originally from Presicce, a town in southern Salento where she grew up. Her family consists of her mother Maria Isabella, a support teacher, and her older brother Antonio known as Tony, a lawyer like her father Salvatore, who died in 1995. When her experience in Striscia la notizia ended on June 8, 2002, she flanked Miguel Bosé in the musical reality show Operazione Trionfo, and hosted the daily summary strip of that same program on Italia 1. In the following years she took part in a number of programs, such as Mandi and Maddy Candid Camera Club, aired on Happy Channel and SKY Vivo, in which she performs gags with Marco Milano, became Alberto Castagna's special correspondent in the program Stranamore for two editions, and co-host of La Domenica del Villaggio, a Sunday program in which she flanked Davide Mengacci. In 2005 she hosts the program Striscia la Notizia with former colleague Elisabetta Canalis on Channel 5 for a week.

In summer 2005 she took part in a pilot episode on Rai 1 of the program Mister Archimede, which he hosts with Giovanni Muciaccia and Fabrizio Frizzi. In 2006 she leads the program Sanremo Lab giovani, dedicated to the selection of some emerging singers for the well-known song festival. Also in 2006 she is a radio host for radio R101 and in the summer she hosts with Max Novaresi the Miss Muretto competition in Alassio. In 2007 she again leads Miss Muretto, this time together with Alvin. Between 2006 and 2007 he hosts the candid camera program Balls of Steel with Marco Mazzocchi on late night. In September 2007 she poses for Max magazine's sexy calendar. In 2008 she hosts, with Daniele Bossari and Paola Maugeri, the show Scalo 76 on Saturday afternoons on Rai 2. In January 2008 she hosts with Franco Neri the 15th edition of BravoGrazie. From 2009 to 2011 she is a regular columnist on the talk show L'Arena. In December 2011 Maddalena appears in the video for the song Stammi vicino by Vasco Rossi, the third single taken from the album Vivere o niente. On September 16, 2012 she presents with Massimo Giletti, live from Canada, the event Una voce per Padre Pio nel mondo (spin-off of Una voce per Padre Pio).

From September 2012 to November 2014 she is one of the pundits on Verdetto Finale and Domenica Live. In the summer of 2013, she is one of the contestants on the new reality-talent show Jump! Stasera mi tuffo, hosted by Teo Mammucari on Channel 5, where she ranked third. On June 28, 2013 she presents, again with Massimo Giletti, Rai 1's religious event Una voce per Padre Pio, and shortly afterwards she leads solo Maddy va veloce on the Nuvolari channel: in each episode she discovers the world of motorcycles by going to circuits and events for real bikers. In May 2014 she participates in the first edition of the new talent Si può fare! conducted on Rai 1 by Carlo Conti: in this talent she gets the first place demonstrating special muscular skills in the performance of aerial tissue and pole dance. In November 2014 she switched to the new Italian digital terrestrial channel Agon Channel, where she hosted the new talent show My Bodyguard.

In the summer of 2015, the showgirl collaborated with the Norba Group and presented the five stages planned for the concerts of the 13th edition of Radionorba Battiti Live. On March 25, 2016 she participated in the second episode of the seventh edition of Ciao Darwin as a representative of the category "Integrators" (a program in which she also participated on March 28, 2003 as the captain, along with former colleague Elisabetta Canalis, of the category "Veline"), aired on Canale 5 and hosted by Paolo Bonolis. From 2016 to 2018 she leads, with Vittorio Brumotti and Gabibbo, the summer version of Paperissima Sprint.

From 2002 to 2007 she had a relationship with Enzo Iacchetti. On May 28, 2011, she married in Mirandola in the Province of Modena, the American Stef Burns (21 years older), guitarist of Vasco Rossi's band, by whom she had a daughter, Jamie Carlyn Birnbaum, born on September 28, 2011.The wedding was officiated by the Emilian rocker himself, thanks to a proxy from the mayor of the town; her best man was Elisabetta Canalis, for whom she would in turn be best man in 2014. On January 19, 2017, the couple announced their separation.
