Mega Man X - Super famicom and SNES
The Mega Man entry that proved you could make a Super Nintendo game without slowdown *glances at Super Ghouls'n Ghosts and R Type*. Mega Man X's dash mechanic puts most games to shame in how fast your character can move but how measured the pace of the stage should be. Mega Man's in air physics are perfect. And of course, Mega Man's buster means you can attack those numerous robots from a safe distance.

Lufia & the Fortress of Doom - Super famicom and SNES
People, even these days, sleep on this game. Some common arguments are "the sequel is better because newer is better" or "you're a noob! Final Fantasy!!!!11" but the difficulty in this game is pretty sky high without being unfair, and the difficulty is based on enemy encounters only. It makes for a completely enjoyable and memorable experience.

Tetris Attack - Super famicom and SNES
An early competitive game. It was in some ways an admission that video gaming still had a ways to go: you would never see Call of Duty 4 on Super Nintendo, but at least you saw a puzzle game that two players could take very, very seriously.

Lamborghini American Challenge - Super famicom and SNES
There is something for everyone in this underrated racing game if you look hard enough. You have to get past your rivals on each track and bet money before you race. Beginners will like how unusually forgiving the game is when you go offtrack or collide with racers and experts will like the very responsive controls.
