Mildred Pierce (1945)
I fell in love with this whole Mildred Pierce character. She's a real woman. And the whole movie was interesting and very well made.
A Perfect World (1993)
Breakfast on Pluto (2006)
The Fifth Element (1997)
Beautiful Thing (1996)
Music Within (2007)
Lucky Number Slevin (2006)
I wasn't really expecting anything good about this movie. I only watched it because of Freeman & Willis. But Lucky Number Slevin wasn't as bad as you'd think. I was expecting something way worse because of Josh Hartnett. I think the ending twist was in a way great choice, but also a bit disappointing. But it really was better than expected.
The Fall (2008)
Rebel Without a Cause (1955)
Very good, I was expecting something overrated. The movie wasn't that good, but it was more about the acting, which actually is the best part of the movie.
The Descent (2005)
I never thought Rope would be such a masterpiece. I was expecting good quality, but not this good. The whole movie just blew me away.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
I was expecting some kind of a typical american comedy. But the movie actually worked really well, the actors were great and it was funny.
The Fighter (2010)
The Fighter is actually the first real surpriser of the year. I was just a bit disappointed with Black Swan but damn this one sure made my day. I found the Fighter to be excellent, even Marky Mark was OK with his boring and expressionless acting. But it only gave Bale more room to steal the spotlight. And that's exactly what happened. Bale is amazingly devoted(once again) for his role and is really the brightspot of the film. But the whole film itself is well done, the boxing scenes are interesting and I gladly watched this right to the ending credits. I think it was quite similar with Raging Bull(not in a copying way) and maybe that's why it's so great. And yes, I enjoyed watching this more than I did watching Black Swan.
Back to the Future (1985)
I only about a week ago finally watched this. Didn't really know what to expect. Well, Back to the Future turned out to be AWESOME!
SLC Punk! (1998)
Interesting actor choices made me doubt that this movie could be good. I was proven wrong. Also Jason Segel has a great sidekick role in the movie.
Way better than you would think. It doesn't seem so interesting at first, and you propably just watch it because of good actors. But Thumbsucker has potential. It has an interesting view on the story that many teenagers can relate to. Just a bit more different. Lou Taylor Pucci is great.
You, the Living (2007)
Interesting, interesting, I must say. I have definitely learned that swedish movies tend to be way better than finnish movies, and this is no exception. Du Levande is very weird movie in a very simple way.
My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
How could you not love this? It's so adorable. Quality work. And all the hidden meanings and messages make it even better.
A Room with a View (1986)
I usually stay far away from romantic movies like this. But because of Helena Bonham Carter, I had to see this. My mom actually said that this movie is "a must-see". So I watched it, and it wasn't that bad.
Knocked Up (2007)
I REALLY thought this would be bad. Just awful. But you know, I kinda liked it. I think the characters are great (Judd's regular actors) and even though the plot might seem stupid, it's pretty good actually.
