Anaconda (1997)
WHY THIS LOW? The Razzies will tell you. But, I mean, c'mon, "Anaconda" shouts "cult." Its textbook survival suspense movie with a colorful cast: A music superstar who wants to be an actress (J Lo), your trademark Bimbo (Kari Wuhrer), an upcoming comedy star (Owen Wilson), and a gangsta rapper who actually has screen presence (Ice Cube), plus a veteran actor who is too memorable in this film (Jon Voight).

Green Lantern (2011)
WHY THIS LOW?: Maybe, its how Hal Jordan was written that kind of tainted the movie: Ryan Reynolds was a little goofy. But I was truly overwhelmed when I first saw it--the visuals are just so amazing and what I imagined a Green Lantern, the Corps and planet OA would be like. Its a comic book turned real, those characters--Kilowog, Tomar Re, and SInestro came alive!

Deep Blue Sea (1999)
WHY THIS LOW? They probably shouted, "Those CG sharks looks sooooo fake!" And they were right. Forget about the sharks for a moment and consider this: An underwater facility breeds highly-intelligent sharks and everything that could go wrong, goes wrong. The setting itself equals fun, add these character actors: Stellan Skarsgard, Michael Rappaport plus LL Cool J, and you have an entertaining action movie with one of the most kick-ass death scene! It's "Anaconda" with a shark.
geojones100's rating:
WHY THIS LOW? Maybe, because the story confuses more than it intrigues. Numbers, dates and aliens predict the world's ending. I like the gloom and doom that permeates throughout the movie. I do think its a really atmospheric horror-sci-fi.

Rush Hour 3 (2007)
WHY THIS LOW? They felt 3 is more than enough. So, after the 3rd one, its quite obvious there wouldn't be a next, but "Rush Hour 3" always opens with delights. And man, has it got those silly funny moments, especially that one in the Dojo. "Who are you?" "Yu." "No, not me, you." "I am Yu." "Just answer the damn question!"
geojones100's rating:
WHY THIS LOW? It is almost unfair to say that the highlight of this film is Natasha Henstridge going topless but "Species" is quite a thrilling sci-fi fare with a pretty good cast (Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Michael Madsen and Forest Whitaker) and a build-up that withstands its premise.
geojones100's rating:
Cabin Fever (2003)
WHY THIS LOW? A Sam Raimi rip-off, you say? Cabin Fever is a good horror film and launched the directorial career of one Eli Roth. While it is the same plot as many a Sam Raimi kind of deal, Roth's visual technique is grand guignol gore.
geojones100's rating:
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
WHY THIS LOW?: Caught in the deluge of horror movies, it became just another slasher movie. Yet, it spawned a sequel means its a better than average slasher-monster movie, in fact, it has a flair for the dramatics, "Jeepers Creepers" thrills around a mystery then delivers a lethal blow.
geojones100's rating:
WHY THIS LOW? The story didn't really do the idea justice. The power to teleport anywhere has always been too appealingย and "Jumper" realizes that which is why I still watch it.
geojones100's rating:
Hulk (2003)
WHY THIS LOW? First time you see it, there's that feeling that its not that good. Which was the same for everyone. But we have to remember that this is the first major CG Hulk since Lou Ferrigno in make-up, it will have its problems. Ang Lee actually did a good job, gave it both the comic book feel and sensibilities to its characters. Hulk jumping miles, battling tanks, getting angrier and angrier, those were vintage green goliath off the comic book pages.

geojones100's rating:
WHY THIS LOW? C'mon, Adam Sandler can't always be doing a Billy Madison. Let him be "Zohan" once in awhile. The movie is simply outrageous and not since "Blazing Saddles" has a comedy made all out war on racial jokes. Perhaps, all in the spirit of good fun? "Zohan" is a slapstick extravaganza.
geojones100's rating:
White Chicks (2004)
WHY THIS LOW? Oh its terrible in many ways. The more you see the Wayans in those disguises, the more you seem to get sick and go into a bitch fit. So, forget the Wayans, its Terry Crews! I laughed so hard whenever he stole the scene. His character Latrell should have his own movie.
geojones100's rating:
WHY THIS LOW? People have a tendency to compare a sequel to the original, especially when they think "Pet Detective" is so so funny. What if they saw "When Nature Calls" first? Whether this is as funny as the first one is closer than you think, "When Nature Calls" may even be more wickedly hilarious because Carrey is more animated and energetic the second time around. Tons of funny moments here.
geojones100's rating:
WHY THIS LOW?: Its golf. Who would want to watch a movie about golf? I don't even play golf myself. But ask me who my favorite golf player in the world and I'd say its Roy McAvoy--the fictional golf pro in director Ron Shelton's romantic comedy. The script is dynamic with many word plays, it is fun to watch, especially on a hot, lazy weekend guzzing beer.ย

2012 (2009)
WHY THIS LOW? "2012" did delivered in its promise of destroying the world in the most shocking, choking way with the most glorious use of CG--which most probably turned a lot of people off. Especially, the near escapes of the limo and the plane which are quite unbelievable. Still, it has John Cusack and he's trying to save his family, dammit! And being the nice guy even with the stepfather around.
geojones100's rating:
Godzilla (1998)
WHY THIS LOW? Its a big Summer movie that people piled in to see but later on confessed to being disappointed. But why? Honestly, I liked the tension here, the build-up, its classic storytelling: throw in the clues, then the proof, then the big reveal. Maybe, it needed better written characters? Right, blame it on Matthew Broderick.
geojones100's rating:
Superman Returns (2006)
WHY THIS LOW? Give Brandon Routh a break. He was actually spot on as Clark Kent-Christopher Reeves style. Without this Bryan Singer formulaic return of the Man of Steel, there wouldn't be a bridge between the old and new movies of Superman. And Kevin "the greatest living actor" Spacey is good as Luthor, but somehow, its not enough. The cartoony script turns out to be too old for the times (with the Dark Knight around and all), so how do you write a Superman movie? They're still figuring it out now.
geojones100's rating:
Twister (1996)
WHY THIS LOW? Jan DeBont's action-disaster movie is, and I'm putting it out there, a near masterpiece. Here's a movie with a simple premise, characters that you'd grow to love and care about (including the sidebar love story), tornado effects that rocks, and an almost unlimited supply of adrenaline. "Twister" I can watch over and over again but why is a movie I can't find any fault so lowly rated? You tell me.
