Neill has shown with Elysium and District 9 that he's a capable and stylish sci fi director. It also helps he directed the live action trailer for Halo 3 and has expressed interest in a Halo project.

For the film adaptation, Joghn would have to be a more human character. Not that he's inhumane in the games, but he should be less robot-ish. In his films Warrior and Zero Dark Thirty, Joel showed the aspects needed for this kind of character.

I think in the film version, John's youth in spartan training should be an aspect we get to see. In his film Mud, Tye gives the single best performance I've seen from a young actor, so I will 100% trust him with this role.

Scarlett is an underrated actress, who is much better than most people think. I think she both looks the part and could play the part of Cortana.

For me, Gravemind was always the real villain of the Halo series. The covenant seemed like an obstacle that had to be beaten, but the Flood were a looming threat. Who else has the intimidation in his voice to the extent of Jeremy Irons?

I think he has the intelligence and sophistication, but also the madness in his tone of voice to play Truth.

A lot of people would pick Keith David, but I want to see this guy as this role. Why? Because The Arbiter is an intelligent and slick character, and so are a lot of Willems characters. I'd like to see Willem voice the Arbiter, because it would work really well with the scenery.
