In 2015, the two best friends, Jade van Weel and Gina Singels, started the Instagram account Girlys Blog. Jade and Gina were only 10 years old at the time(!), but were already happy to share their love for fashion, make up, food and travel. In a short time Girlys Blog grew rapidly, with which the girls built up an extremely strong online platform. After reaching 5,000 followers on Instagram, the Girlys Blog YouTube channel also became a fact. The cheerful duo shared their very first holiday vlog here in March 2016. The videos that followed soon reached hundreds of thousands of views. Since then, the name Girlys Blog has become an indispensable part of the top content creators in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The success of Girlys Blog did not go unnoticed. On the growth of their careers, the girls managed to win several major award nominations: 'Best Newcomer' 2017, 'Best Channel' 2018 and 'Best Instagrammer' 2019 for the VEED Awards – and 'Best YouTuber' 2019 for the ZAPP Awards . In March 2018, Girlys Blog received the Kid's Choice Award for Favorite Internet Star - Netherlands & Belgium 2018. In addition, Girlys Blog is no less than no. 15 in the book YouTube Top 100 2019.
The popularity and achievements of Girlys Blog continued to translate into multiple areas. The duo now had its own merchandise line, its own single Landen Op Ibiza with almost 5 million views, collaborations with leading brands such as L'Oréal, Kiehl's, Subdued, Sony, Disney and Maybelline – and Jade and Gina are the faces on covers from several magazines, including the popular Meiden Magazine.
Exactly 4 years after founding Girlys Blog, the girls reached almost 400,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 263,000 followers on Instagram. Despite the unprecedented success, Jade and Gina are still sober and incredibly grateful to their fans for all the support. Unfortunately, at the end of 2022 they decided to stop their collaboration and each go their own way.
