Africa
According to Wikipedia, homosexual acts are legal only in less than half of the African countries. South Africa is the only country currently where gay marriage, adoption et cetera is allowed. But the times are changing, and hopefully more LGBTQ films will help alleviate the situation.
America
According to Wikipedia, the legal rights for homosexuals vary a lot. Homosexual acts are allowed in about two thirds of the American countries and currently almost a third of the countries allow gay marriages. Here are some films, hoping for a bright future.

Asia
According to Wikipedia, while homosexual acts are allowed in more than half of the Asian countries at large, there are still territories where you can be put to death for loving someone of the same gender. While no country currently allows gay marriages or adoption on a state level (excepting Israel, see below) things are progressing at a fast rate, especially in South East Asia. Lots of LGBTQ films are being made as well.
Asia and/or Europe
Since there is a lot of debate whether Israel and Turkey belongs to Asia and/or Europe I decided to give them their own heading. When it comes to LGBTQ rights and moviemaking I feel such a classification is apt.
Europe
According to Wikipedia, all European countries allow homosexual acts, legally. Almost half of the countries allow gay marriages and a third allow gay adoption. While this looks comparatively good there is still lots to be done, there is for instance a notable lack of LGBTQ films made in East Europe.

A work in progress, slowly filling it in.
These lists are made for my own sake, but I put them here on Listal in case someone else should find a use for them.
I have made some notes on gay rights for each country since I think these put the films in a slightly wider context, please read more if you are interested. Personally I believe LGBTQ films (and popular culture in general) is playing a big part in helping countries (or rather their citizens) see, understand and accept love in other shades than the norm.
For understanding and pleasure both.
