A list of my favorite images of Vietnamese mossy frogs.

The Vietnamese mossy frog (Theloderma corticale) is a medium-sized semi-aquatic tree frog.

Its skin is a mottled green and brown colour, covered with bumps and spikes which gives it the appearance of moss.

The fact that it is so well camouflaged allows it to rest during the day out in the open without being spotted by predators.

It has large toe pads on its feet which it uses to help it stick to just about any surface.

Adults are generally between 2.5-3.5 inches, with the females being slightly larger than the males.

Females lay 10-30 eggs on rocks or plants overhanging water and when the tadpoles hatch they fall into the water. Metamorphosis from tadpole into frog takes between 5-8 months for this species.

Their diet in the wild is small insects such as crickets, flies, cockroaches, worms and moths, while in captivity they're fed on crickets.

The frogs were relatively recently discovered, in the last 20 years or so, at relatively high elevations in their native Vietnam. Their range extends from northern Vietnam and extending slightly into China.

Their habitat is sub-tropical to tropical forests and marshlands.
