The blue-banded pitta (Erythropitta arquata) is a species of bird in the Pittidae family.
It is found in Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia where it is endemic to the island of Borneo.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
Size: 15 cm; weight: 50โ58 g. The male has forehead to nape and side of neck scarlet, a glistering sky-blue postocular stripe, dark green-blue upperparts and narrow line of sky-blue on wings.
Habitat: forest, often with many fallen trees and bamboo stands. Commonest at 600โ1200 m.
