Just Cause - PC Games
Worse than Just Cause 2 in just about every way. Vast as an ocean deep as a puddle is this game in a nutshell (and a bug ridden puddle at that).
Gameplay
The game is extremely repetitive: taking over towns and mansions will play out the same way every time, and there is a lot of them. Then we have like 13 collect X packages quests that simply has you running to a marked place on the minimap to collect the item that's there. Lets just say it gets boring real fast.
Most vehicles handles like shit, gliding around like it's nobodys business. They easily flip, but usually manages to spin around to land on their wheels. The game uses motion blur to give a sense of speed. This works to the detriment of the race quests, where you will travel from checkpoint to checkpoint as quickly as posible.
The grappling hook is far less useful than in its successor; now it's mainly useful for hijacking cars. Using the hook in combination with the parachute as a means of travel is not really an efficient option in this game, nor can you latch onto something other than vehicles with it.
Story
What little I saw of it was generic and uninspired. Didn't really make me want to know what would happen next.
AI
The AI for vehicles at sea is god awful: it can't even avoid land. On land it's a little bit better, though people have a tendency to be running over highways for some reason. Enemies will simply approach you and shoot at you, or try to ram into you if they're in a vehicle. The sole instance of even a little bit of intelligence is that they seem to try to avoid grenades.
Looks
Graphics wise it uses way too much bloom and motion blur. Otherwise its about what you can expect for a game of its era that is this big. Occasionally you'll come across some pretty vistas.
Sound
There are helicopters fucking everywhere so that helicopter noise will constantly go on in the background. You will also be constantly haunted by police voices unless you remove|rename a voice file.
The music is also very repetitive with one track each for driving a car|motorcycle, driving a boat and flying a plane. This gets rather tiresome.
