Deaths Counted
A list of all games completed while deaths were being counted.
Duplicate - PlayStation 3
Total Deaths: 118
A bit clunky and shows its age at points but still an enjoyable Souls experience!
Afterburn1000's rating:

Dark Souls - Prepare to Die Edition - PC Games
Total Deaths: 131
Some optimisation issues (with mods to fix) but still one of the best RPGs out there for those who like a challenge! The quintessential Souls game!
Afterburn1000's rating:

Dark Souls II - PC Games
Total Deaths: 194
Base Game Deaths: 126
DLC Deaths: 68
Runs much better than Dark Souls 1 and has faster more fluid combat. World design, story and boss diversity not as good as Demon's or Dark souls though.
Afterburn1000's rating:

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin - PlayStation 4
Total Deaths: 378
A more difficult remixed and enhanced version of Dark Souls II. Game runs on DirectX 11 and has a working lighting engine (kinda). Much more of a challenge to the original!
Afterburn1000's rating:

Dark Souls III - PC Games
Total Deaths: 1473
Blind dex/quality run: 348
Pure caster runs total deaths: 646
NG: 387
NG+: 215
NG++: 44 (stopped fighting every enemy)
Soul Level 1 run: 372 (Incomplete, yet to kill Nameless King or Soul of Cinder)
Daggers Only run: 107
With a world and lore reminiscent of Dark Souls 1 and Demon Souls with loads of references and tied up loose ends from the previous games. Gameplay takes a page out of Bloodborne for more fluid and fast paced combat, but still punishes you for being greedy!
Afterburn1000's rating:

Bloodborne - PlayStation 4
Total Deaths: 466
1st blind run: 251 deaths
2nd Run: 60 deaths
Chalice Dungeons (2nd Character): 126 deaths
3rd Run (NG+ with 2nd Character): 12 deaths
4th Run (NG++ with 2nd Character): 17 deaths
Blind DLC (NG++ with 2nd Character): 300
A PS4 exclusive Souls-esque game made by the Souls team. Set in a Gothic land with Lovecraftian motifs. Best PVE of all the Souls games so far, however the PVP model doesn't work very well. The lack of variety in weapons along with poor balancing in NG+ limits replayability.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix - PlayStation 3
This is for all the games contained in this collection, for further details see the individual games. (Note listal does not have the final mix version of the portable games available)
All games were played on the hardest available difficulty
Total Deaths: 654
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (Proud): 193
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (Proud) Speedster/Unchanging Armour: 310
Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories (Proud): 111
Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories (Beginner): 40
A series I loved as a child, brought back... but better! Disney and Square Enix (Final Fantasy series) collaborate to create an awesome universe and deep story. However sometimes things don't make much sense.

Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix - PlayStation 2
Total Deaths (Proud): 193
Total Deaths (Proud) Speedster/Unchanging Armour: 310
An amazing game from my childhood with added content (and remastered in HD 1.5 Remix). If you like the Disney films and Final Fantasy series you need to play this!

Sora's Campaign (Proud): 70
Riku's Campaign (Proud): 41
An interesting remake of a Nintendo DS game. Story is very slow and mostly dull early game but picks up at the end. Combat is awkward and very slow (due to card system) as well as has a few issues from the transition to 3D (no vertical aiming on some attacks)
Difficult to play through, but worth playing/watching the end of the campaigns for the story.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep: Final Mix (Critical): 506
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep: Final Mix (Beginner): 7
Similar to HD 1.5 Remix the games are great, come with extra content and are remastered in HD. An improvement on the original these games are even more fun, although do raise a lot of questions about the story of the series.

Ventus's Story: 128

Secret Mission: 001
Secret Bosses: 184
An interesting prequel to the first Kingdom Hearts, describes the story of 3 Keyblade masters 10 years before Kingdom Hearts 1. Bit of a difficulty curve on Critical but fun combat and an interesting story (which explains a lot in preparation for Kingdom Hearts 3) makes this definitely worth playing!

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Limited Edition... - PlayStation 3
Final Fantasy X Deaths: 29
Final Fantasy X-2 Deaths: 13
A remastered version of the classic Final Fantasy X games (also available on PS4 with further improvements). X has one of the best modern Final Fantasy (post FF IX) stories and is very enjoyable to play.
X-2 is an extremely cringey "Girl Power" sequel focusing around some of the female characters after the events of X. The character changes, stories and villains are similar to those in a "chick flick" and do not contain the same depth as they did in X.

A very dark and enjoyable psychological horror, reminiscent of Resident Evil 4 and similar games. Hard mode and extra weapons unlocked after completing the game on normal difficulty ensure some replayability

Lords of the Fallen - PlayStation 4
Played as a Rogue (apparently the hardest starting class)
Total Deaths 154
An interesting ARPG which was inspired by the Souls series. Combat is fun... when it works. Perhaps due to playing it on PS4 I had a lot of issues with animation quality, bugs and a small (but noticeable) amount of input lag. The combat itself also feels unbalanced in NG (much easier in NG+) as due to how quick some enemy animations and movements are it is very difficult not to get hit by some attacks unless you kill the enemy before they can attack.
Boss fights feel slow and frustrating for the most part (especially when compared to the Souls series) as bosses often have shields or very quick attack animations, turns or bad hit boxes which make it difficult to get close enough to hit them. I had to rely on magic to finish off multiple bosses as its the only truely viable ranged attack (unless playing a mage, which has no real offensive magic and has to use the gauntlet [a ranged weapon, but uses mana, normally does less damage than magic])

Nioh - PlayStation 4
Total Deaths: 210
Nioh feels and looks similar to Dark Souls, but is played in a different way. The loot system is more similar to Diablo or Borderlands whilst the combat is quite different. The different stances give a greater variety to the moveset of any given weapon, but you are limited to how many different types of weapon there are. I ran the game with a sword and axe, and found it challenging, but fun.
The game could definitely use better explanation for basic mechanics and character leveling though, as even at the end of my playthrough, I didn't really know what I should be leveling

Antichamber - PC Games
An interesting puzzle game involving a gun which can shoot cubes (with various special effects as you progress). Definitely worth a try if you enjoyed Portal!

Duplicate - PC Games
A Fallout game set in the Mojave Wasteland, including Las Vegas and Hoover Dam this Fallout shows more of what has changed post nuclear war. The DLC were all highly enjoyable as well!
