Lisa Leonard was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a teenager she started off doing small plays and national commercials (KFC, Debonaires Pizza). She later studied for a B.A. Drama degree at the University of Pretoria and by 2008 was offered the leading role in the super-charged South African daytime talk show Drawing the Line (2008-2010). She made her big screen debut with a small role of Annie in the award winning independent hit Slam-Bang (2009).
